Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation is not a “graduation” in the faith, a mere rite of passage, but rather, a powerful sealing and strengthening of your child’s faith with the gifts of the Holy Spirit which empowers them to live and walk as a committed disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ! Confirmation for Youth is offered to baptized children, who have celebrated their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist and successfully completed this two-year preparation program as outlined below:

  • You must attend the Parent/Child meeting on September 23rd @ 7:00 pm in the church.

How do I register?

Please register online.  Your registration is ONLY finalized after we have received your child’s baptismal certificate unless they were baptized here at Annunciation Catholic Church in which case you do not need to submit another certificate.

Why do I need to provide a baptismal certificate?

If your child was not baptized at Annunciation Catholic Church, you are required by the Diocese of Orlando to provide us with a recently issued certificate (no older than 6 months old) from their place of baptism. Please note that your place of baptism is the keeper of all your sacramental records.

Why can’t you just use the baptismal certificate that you provided to school or parish office in the past?

Even if your child received the Sacrament of Eucharist here at Annunciation Catholic Church, attended Faith Formation or attended our parish school, we must have a recently issued baptismal certificate.  This is a means of ensuring that your child’s records are kept accurate. Any errors or omissions can be corrected to help keep those records all accurate.

What does the registration fee cover?

All Sacramental preparation programs are subsidized by the parish and your registration fee covers both years of this 2 year program, books, materials, meals, retreats, guest speakers, service projects, rehearsal dinners and Confirmation Mass.

Can my child prepare at another parish and/or receive at another parish?

You must submit a request in writing outlining why you are not preparing and/or receiving Confirmation at your home parish. This will require pastor approval from both parishes and you will be notified of the decision.
